About Melody Snider, PhD

Dr. Melody Snider is a licensed psychologist with specialized training in clinical neuropsychology and clinical psychology. She is dedicated to helping adults navigate the challenges of health conditions through compassionate care.

TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY:

Dr. Snider recognizes that treatment requires specific knowledge of neurological/chronic medical conditions and how they impact a person's mental health. It is not uncommon for individuals coping with chronic conditions to experience depression, anxiety, decreased self-confidence, grief, loss of identity, relationship/social concerns, and a variety of difficulties in thinking ability. Her techniques are flexible and are guided by factors such as her patient's health, goals, strengths and weaknesses, life experiences, and level of social support. Because each person is unique, Dr. Snider applies tailored techniques to help enhance her patients' overall quality of life.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Dr. Snider graduated with her Ph.D. in 2005 and has trained and practiced in multiple settings including private clinics, VA, nursing homes, community clinics, state prison, rehabilitation hospitals, and a medical school. She has owned her private practice since 2007.
  • She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Boise State University.
  • Her Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees were obtained from the University of Montana in the area of Clinical Psychology with specialized training in Neuropsychology.
  • She completed her Clinical Neuropsychology predoctoral internship at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/Institute on Aging.
  • Dr. Snider further pursued a fellowship in Adult Clinical Neuropsychology at Emory University Medical School in Atlanta, Georgia.
  • She graduated with honors and has earned several awards for her accomplishments in therapy, research, assessment, and academics.

PERSONAL INTERESTS:

Dr. Snider enjoys the company of her loving and supportive family, friends, and beloved pets. She is a devoted pet parent to an adorable Havanese puppy, Carly Hope, and a long-haired guinea pig, Spice. Dr. Snider loves playing with her animals, watching movies, eating out with friends and family, finding new and interesting recipes to cook and bake, barbecuing, planting flowers, and taking drives along scenic routes. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to practice psychology in her home state of Idaho.
